When winter comes to Aizu...
...what else is there to do but read Doujinshi as we huddle miserably beside our noxious paraffin heaters?
This site is dedicted to providing useful information about the wonderful thing that is Doujinshi to the English speaking world.

Doujinshi? What's that?
Doujinshi is a fan-produced book usually based on popular Japanese anime and manga series. Doujinshi often contain both short stories and comic-type stories, or one long (ish) comic-style story. They are written entirely in Japanese (apart from the Engrish, but that doesn't count) usually without furigana (the kana over/ beside the kanji to aid reading) and sometimes handwritten (just to make life insufferable). They are very popular in Japan and are produced aimed at both men and women. This site only deals with Doujinshi aimed at women. The vast amount of Doujinshi being produced means there is a huge variety in quality and subject-matter but BE WARNED; most of the Doujinshi we are concerned with here contains some amount of shonen-ai or yaoi. So if you don't like this, or you don't know what this is, it's probably best you delve no further into this site.

Who are we?
We are an American and a Brit living in an area of northern Japan called Aizu. It is a cold, lonely place, buried under several feet of snow in winter when we spend our days watching anime and reading manga (under the pretense of "studying Japanese"), drinking green tea and taking regular trips to Tokyo to re-stock our manga and Doujinshi collections. When we're not at work, that is.
Ting Ting has an on-going, soul-devouring obsession with GetBackers Doujinshi.
Cienna can't get enough Full Metal Alchemist Doujinshi of the Hughes/Roy variety to sate her needs. At times, she is gripped with an insatiable need for some Hikaru no Go Doujinshi.

For Sale and Requests
Sometimes we buy too much. Sometimes we find we've bought two of the same. In that case we'll sell them to you lovely people here. We will also take requests for certain fandoms when we go to Tokyo and when we got to various comic markets throughout the year. To see how this works and when we are next going to Tokyo or to an event take a look at the requests page.

Doujinshi on the web
I've been shuffling around the internet lately looking for other Doujinshi-centric sites. And the results? Some excellent Harry Potter and Gundam Wing sites and a whole lot of sites selling Doujinshi. So if you're looking for more info, where to buy or Doujinshi for other series not featured here check out our Links page.
